Do's and Don'ts

DO: Check connections
DO: Check power
DO: Try putting drive in another PC
DO: If all fails, stop working on the drive and call us
DON'T: Do not run repair utilities as you may further the problem. Repair utilities will attempt to fix anomalies in the file system and get the drive working again, but not recover your data.
DON'T: If you hear a clicking noise, do not continue to use the drive or reboot in an attempt to get it to work. The more you use it, the less likely a successful recovery.
DON'T: Do not attempt to experiment or attempt to recover using "tricks" you heard about.
DON'T: Do not continue to work on the drive.
